Pigment salts are made from natural pigments and mica powder, blended with salt, citric acid, and soda ash to create a unique, dry watercolor experience.

These are a fun, texture-heavy way to add organic blooms, color bursts, and sparkle to your work — no two results are ever the same.

To use:
Wet your paper first, then lightly sprinkle the pigment salts over the surface and let the magic happen. As the salt dissolves, the pigments release and spread, creating soft blends, separation, and natural textures.

A little goes a long way. Using too much without enough water can cause the salt to sit on the surface and clump instead of fully dissolving. If that happens, simply add more water or use fewer crystals.

You can also sprinkle the salts onto dry paper and activate them with a light water mist or droplets for more controlled effects.

Once fully dry, brush away any remaining salt crystals to reveal the finished texture.

Each batch is handmade and will vary slightly in color distribution and crystal size — that’s part of what makes them so fun to work with.
